safe video mode switching, part 2

Hello,
I had posted a week or two ago asking about safe video mode switching.
Slaying/restarting the graphics driver works as we want, but when the
controlling pterm is closed, I get dropped from photon (get thrown into a
terminal) and I can’t do anything.

I’ve tried nohupping the graphics drivers, but they still will die off. Is
there anything that can be done to keep them going?

Thanks,
Ron

Hm…try using on – maybe something like
“on -t /dev/con1 driver”
