Help! I have a "sleep"-ing problem!!!

Hi,

I am using the sleep utility in some script and sometimes it hangs there! I
did couple of “sleep 5 &” and here is the result of “sin rt | grep sleep”:

317 845 //0/bin/sleep signal 14 -.— -.—
318 854 //0/bin/sleep signal 14 -.— -.—
319 857 //0/bin/sleep signal 14 -.— -.—
320 860 //0/bin/sleep signal 14 -.— -.—
321 863 //0/bin/sleep signal 14 -.— -.—

Any clues???

Thanx,

PB.

Is it possible a higher priority process is consuming all the CPU and not
letting the sleep run.

Thanx,

I though so, but it doesn’t seem to be the case. I can start other utility

at the same priority without problems. I am suspecting shell resources but i
am not sure. Here are other sin capture that might help:

Is it possible to have the “sleep” code to debug?

Hi,

I am using the sleep utility in some script and sometimes it hangs

I
did couple of “sleep 5 &” and here is the result of “sin rt | grep

320 860 //0/bin/sleep signal

When this occurs, we have to reboot the machine to return to normal. a simple exit does not help.
