Intel 82558 ethernet in QNX 4.25

Hello:

I’m trying to install QNX 4.25 to a single board computer that has an
integrated Intel 82558B Fast Ethernet controller. During the install it
probes for hardware and finds the device, however it never detects the
ethernet address (seen by expanding the device tree in the post-search
window of the QNX installer).

If I go ahead anyway & finish the install, QNX uses all the proper settings
(as seen with nettrap) and the Net.ether82557 driver, however I get “no
route to host” errors when I try to ping a known local machine, e.g. the
interface does not work. I had Windows on this SBC and know the network
hardware is functional.

Anyone know what I can do to make this work? Can I tell the driver the
48-bit ethernet address manually after the install by editing some file?

Thanks,
Jay Marchetti

Is the driver running? Please post the output from ‘sin’ and ‘sin ve’ as
well as the output from ‘show_pci -vv’.

OK Hugh, here they are. Looks like the driver is running…

Right, we have established that the driver is up and running. Have you
tried starting the Net.ether82557 driver without any command line
arguments? Please post the output from ‘sin arg’, ‘netinfo -l’ and
‘netinfo’.
