Screen Capture

How can I get a screen captrure to a jpg or bmp? Is this possible just
using a shell or do I have to be in photon? We like to include some screen
shots in our documentation, any ideas???

The snapshot utility under QNX 4.25 will provide this feature. It can
be used on the command line. Take a look at the help file. Important
to note that it will only capture to a .bmp file. You must have the
“BMP Spool File” printer installed. Go to /qnx4/photon/print and make
sure that the printers file is there. If not, copy the printers.sample
to printers and edit it to make sure that BMP Spool File is not
commented out. You might have to “install” the print through your
desktop’s install/configure printers. After all that, it should work.
See the help documentation on how to use snapshot from the command line.

Note that snapshot works different under QNX 6, so the above info is
only for QNX 4.

For textmode use prtsc (though it does not give bmp)
For Photon use SnapShot
For QNX Windows I recommend fotbmp

For this to work you will have to be in Photon running you text mode app
from a pterm.

I.E. You can not snapshot a text mode console that isn’t under Photon.
