I have “distributed” client/server application. Computers are connected via
ethernet. Lately I have found that client is blocked on vc to server, state
of VC is REPLY/6. Is there any automatic recovery out of this state
(Reply/6) ?

Can you post a sin ver so we can see what version of QNX4 (namely Proc)
you’re using.

Also, could you throw in a “sin” and “sin vc” on both sides of the
transaction? That is, on both machines. That would be helpful too,
so that we can see the state of all the pieces involved.

dbserver50 – is it in a sane & healthy state? Are those REPLY blocked
vcs/processes because it is still working on their requests? Or, has
it somehow “forgotten” about them? If it has such a bug, and it is
_PPF_SIGCATCH, then that is a problem that can really only be solved
at its end.

dbserver seems to be in healthy state, several other clients talk to it
successfully. It must have “forgotten” about these two clients. The problem
is that dbserver is Sybase SQL Anywhere server, which is no longer
supported. ;-(
