Can't boot from DOC2000

I try to install QNX 4.24 on a DiskOnChip2000. I am able to format the
device and install the OS. The partition is marked as bootable and the
bootloader is copied to the DOC. Formated with the DOS tools, the system is
able to boot from the DOC but not with QNX.
The prototype system used an older DiskOnChip MD2001-D40 with the same PC104
board. The new device is a MD2002-D48.
Can anyone help me?

Regards,
Daniel

What do you see when you try to start the system? Do you get to the loaders
at all?

Regards,

Erick.

There is a message from the loader when booting. “DiskOnChip 2000 Loader
(V5.01) Copyright …”
Then I receive “Insert Disk and press any key” no matter if I select floppy
or harddrive as primary boot device.

Daniel

Sounds like your not getting to the loader or the loader is not on the DOC.

After you fdisk the DOC, do you run dinit? and if you do what are the switches
that you use?

Also what driver are you using to access the DOC? Are you using the DOC driver
from M-Systems? and if so do you know for sure if it supports the DOC 2000?

Best regards,

Erick.

I’m installing qnx from a boot disk with the driver copied to /bin and
dformat copied to /.
After running dformat I start the installation with: install -d -p “-n:hd0”
In a further step dinit -hq /dev/hd0t77 is called

The driver Fsys.diskonchip V5.00 is from M-Systems. I downloaded the driver
from the internet in the DOC2000 section.

After the installation a tried again fdisk and used the boot and loader
option to be sure.

Daniel
