where is a good place to look for a port for ssh?
The link on http://www.teaser.fr/~jcmichot/gnu/ has
died. I’m looking for something that includes sftp
as well.
How can one otherwise secure telnet&ftp access
into a QNX4 server?
Will these measures be “good enough” or is something
like SSH the way to go?

You can look at
ftp://developers.cogentrts.com/pub/qnx4/stowable
There is an ssh port there, but I don’t know if it includes
sftp. It it not a very recent version of ssh.
