is there anybody, that could suggest a sensible (simple, not too big)
backup-system for a qnx4-machine (data < 200MB)?
thanks in advance

Patrick,
IMHO Iomega ZIP250 (internal IDE) is a good choice.
Shr.
Zip parallel works for me, up to 250mb. Mitchell Schoenbrun sells a QNX 4
driver.

I’m using IOMEGA JAZ 2GB, but these are impossible to get (try ebay).
For backup, I now ftp the files to a windows machine and then burn them on
CD.

I bought a 4-8GB SCSI tape drive off ebay for ~$20. Works great.
Of course if you don’t have a SCSI controller you’d have to buy
one. I also bought an Adaptec 2940UW controller off ebay for $10,
and that works great too. The tape cartridges cost ~$30/each.
So now I just backup the entire partition and don’t have to worry
about losing anything.
Tapes are a little slow, but I kick it off in the evening and it’s
done by the morning.
You can also get SCSI or IDE removable hard drives.
The 750M ZIP (internal IDE) also work fine.

I’m using 3.5" MO 640MB
IDE and SCSI drives with up to 2.3GB are available.

Sorry, Patrick, i didn’t understand yor question than
Anyway, i usually just make a tar archive of the source system and burn it
on CD/RW (under Win2k of FreeBSD). Works fine and no problems with
unsupported hardware and so on.

Btw. Hasn’t somebody used Flash disk on USB ?
