QNX Newbie Questions

I won’t ask the “how do I increase mouse speed” question–saw it below,
though the answers I saw baffled me (coming from a Windows background). By
the way, will there ever be GUI tools to perform this sort of thing?

Where can I find documentation on how to alter the root password and to add
a non-root user?

Also, was attempting to download packages from qnx, and the download was
running at 1 to 2 kbps (I’ve got DSL and it averages about 600 kbps on other
downloads). This simply due to the large number of people downloading?

Finally, any way to access a printer hanging off of a Win2K server (have
unix print services installed)?

Thanks!

In the QNX Neutrino Utilities Reference. The command you want is passwd.

We are working on one right now.

type: use passwd

It could be. The volume of downloads is huge right now.

Does the printer have an IP address?

: Thanks!

Can’t wait! My command line muscles have atrophied.

Nope, it’s run through File and Print sharing, and to the best of my
knowledge it has no IP, unless print requests the the server’s IP would
somehow get routed to the printer… don’t think this is how it works,
though…
