lpsrvr, how to print to remote printer

I’d like to print on a remote printer. I got lpr to work from the command
line
by creating and tweaking the /etc/printcap file, and setting up lpd on the
print
server.

Applications under photon (i.e. voyager) do not show me a printer.

I read a news article in the installation newsgroup where someone suggested:
spooler -c ps.cfg -n printername -d “| lpr -PremotePrinter”

I tried it and it does show me the printername in the print requester in
voyager. It just doesn’t print anything.

Also, the installation gude is not part of the help system at installation
time. That might be useful. And the installation gude, www site, and
other WWW sites I’ve looked at are VERY cryptic about the networking
stuff (from the user’s standpoint).

We’re working on a System Administration guide. It should be ready later
this year.
