Installed Python from the repository but it seems to have installed zero
length files for the primary interpreter executable.

Have I done something wrong?

Also, any idea when the latest Python will be available via the repository?

Hi Andrew,

There is/was a problem with the package, you didn’t do anything wrong.
A bigger, better Python package will be available shortly.
