booting problem

Hi!
I have this most annoying problem…
I’m very new to QNX, so this is the first time i tried to install…
but…
First i boot from the cd to install the boot files on a second harddrive…
it works perfectly, he find both me EIDE drives… so he installs, and
then reboots… then when i’m going to boot QNX (through PQ bootmagic)… it
says
Press ESC for another OS …
then after several … it just hangs… nothing happends for a long
time…
my comp specs are
PIII 450mhz,
128 mb sdram
20 gb drive + 2 gb drive (which i use for QNX)
sb live!
voodoo3 card
Does anyone know whats bugging me??? would be reeeally fun to
try qnx… !
thanx!

At that point press spacebar and try the different boot options
I think maybe the first one to try is without DMA access ?

DAMN… I’m always late on this posts…

Hey are you thinking about adding some better boot manager, let’s say
configurable, like Linux’s LILO, on the patch ??? … I’d really like to
have QNX as my main OS, managing multiboot on both disks… it’s a shame
that I have to install some BootMagic or even LILO to do that stuff… and I
don’t want to install QNX on the same disk as window$.

RTP doesn’t support booting from SCSI. The next patch will address
this.

When/where will this patch be available? I’m holding off installing
RtP because my whole system is SCSI based.

If I knew that, I would have included the info in my post.

Yes, this is possible with lilo and every BIOS
which allows to change the search sequence of boot
devices. I haven’t seen until now a standard PC
BIOS which
allows to select the second hard disk as boot
device.

My 2 year old Yasu allows a choice boot d,scsi, as well as the
a, c, scsi standard
