Problem with network

Hi!

I have a big problem with connection to Internet from QNX RTP. All fields in
DialUP Config are filled properly, but when I click “Connect” button this
message appear:

Opening device ‘/dev/ser2’

Initializing modem

ATZ

ok

ATM1

Connection failed

Modem USR Sportster Voice 33,6 external on COM2.

How can I solve this problem? Modem works OK in other OS’es like Windows
2000 and BeOS. If You need I can send all system info about my hardware.

Anyhow, QNX is the best OS I used. Without any problem I connect Cyrillic
fonts and now can read and write Russian texts.

Best regards

Sergey

Hi Sergey:
I’m also a newbie here and I even can’t still connect to Internet, but I did
make my modem work. It’s also an Sportster Voice but it’s 56. I only can
help saying that you may have to use the correct init string. I use the
following:

AT&F1S0=0S7=90E1V1

You can find the appropiate in the apps included in the modem CD, but before
you can try with the one I use. If the problem is when the modem tries to
detect the line, you may include ‘X0’ before ‘E1V1’.
Hope to help,

Leo

a simple AT&F1 (hardware flow control) should be enough if your
USR/3Com NVram is set right, &F1 is the hardware setting,
&F0 or a simple ATZ are software flow control, i think that if
you use ATZ1 that too uses the hardware flow control.

i`v just dumped my NVram to a file by typeing ATI5, ATI6 and ATI7
from a terminal program.

while mine is also a 56k/V90 the results might be simular, its been a
very long time since i messed about of NVram setting way back
in my BBS days infact, so my setting might be slightly off
(if so tell me what i can optimise LOL), at it stands i can conect
on average 46333 in both winblows and RTP with this external
USR Sportster Flash.

heres its output.

I have info that this string must help. But I don’t know where the right
place for it? If I type it in Network Config Advanced Options nothing
happen - in terminal I can see ATZ agan. So somewhere must be script for
dialing?
