Scrolling shelves?

Here is an idea. Make the shelves contents scrollable when there is
too much on the shelf to fit on screen. The default contents of
the right shelf is too much for 640x480. (Seems many people are
trying QRTP on old laptops limited to 640x480 on the LCD.)
Hmmm, how about a virtual scrolling desktop? My laptop’s Cirrus
Logic GD54xx chip can do that in Windows.

much better idea:

rightclick on the deskbar → setup
then arrange the icons in groups

There are plans to make shelf more useable in the near future.
Draggability of shelves and plugins are among the enhancments
being proposed.

I will have to allow someone in the graphics group to comment on
desktop panning…
