I just installed QNX on my primary slave HD (1.5GB/FAT16) and I’m having
problems getting QNX to boot properly. I have tried booting with and without
DMA access and it still freezes after it attempts to install /dev/par port
378. Know of anything that can help me out?
Comp Specs:
AMD K6-2 300mhz
64 Megs RAM
VA-503+ Motherboard
Windows 98 SE

I too have downloaded today the 90+meg ISO, verified the checksum with the
util at QNX, installed it without a hitch (apparently), and then suffered
the same problem during boot. I have also tried booting both with and
without DMA, as well as booting from the floppy I made using the entry in
the QNX folder. I have an AMD K6-2 300 with 32 megs of ram, a 4.3 gig
harddrive, and am currently running Win98SE, with no other OSes on the
system (for the moment). Is this a know compatibility issue with AMD
processors perchance, or maybe with Win98SE? I even went so far as to
uninstall the re-install it, with the same results. I would appreciate any
help I can get, but after having spent a day of downloading and tinkering
with NOTHING to show for it, it may be a good time to go back to BeOS!
Thanks in advance for any help I might receive.

Can you tell us the make and model of hard-drive you have installed to?
When you boot with DMA, you will see the message
“Press the space bar to input boot options…”
Hit the space bar and can you try booting with the verbose option F6
Try to capture what is being output onto the screen(write it down) and post
this.
