Newbie phindows font related question

Hi;

I’ve got Phindows (1.20) kind of up and running against RTP, but the
font rendering within a terminal window is weird. It refuses to redraw
properly; as I type a line is left across the screen by the cursor.

All symptoms are that it doesn’t repaint properly. If I Alt-Tab to a
Win32 application and come back again the entire terminal window
within the Phindows desktop still contains the Win32 application that
was previously there; it just doesn’t make any effort at all to
repaint.

It does this sort of thing even if I don’t switch to another
application and come back. Bring up a new terminal window, type “ps”,
then type “vi .profile” and you can’t read a thing; it’s just a jumble
of characters.

I tried adding the “-x” switch to the inetd phrelay entry on the
server, and the background redrew perfectly, but I didn’t get a single
font rendered anywhere within the phindows session.

Any advice would be most welcome. support.qnx.com had nothing that
looked like it addressed this issue.

Thanks,
Andrew.

Ok, it seems that you haven’t the last phrelay release.
With qrtp patch A, these problems, which I saw before, no more exist. You
will have an new one, but not this one .
In fact, now, the task bar and shielf are not refreshed in their correct
position when you iconify Phindows and then maximize it.

Alain.

You’re EXACTLY right. I did the online QNX 6 upgrade thingie, and
after 2 hours of explicit language when it refused to boot because the
handling of network cards appears to be a little different, all the
font problems went away.

The problem isn’t just when you iconize and restore phindows; it
happens when I drag a resizing handle as well.

Any sign/hint/timeframe on a fix for this? It’s obviously an easy one
to work around, but a fix would be nice.
