error on reboot for first time,

When rebooting for first time after installation @vis floppy boot ; cdrom;
stand alone hard drive -and- computer [no other os].
It goes through it’s load up routine and hangs at this line;

devi -hirun kbd fd -d/dev/kbd msoft fd -d/dev/ser1

Thats it folks.
Anyone familiar with this hangup?
after 30 minutes I gave up and cold powered the thing.

I have a gut feeling it’s [as usual] the video driver service that’s
not responding, but, I’m a newbe and what do I know !!
Please post any suggestions.

Hi,

The devi-hirun driver is for input, try booting into “safe mode”. Press
the space bar at startup and select F3, this won’t cause the system to
boot into Photon.

Then try running Photon from the command line and see what the output is
then.

Erick.

Tried several video cards, at the moment have access to hundreds of them,
[network tech hey hey],
At preseant tonight I’m using; ATI rage pro II +dvd chip 9807a
Last night I used a S3 trio 64V+ /86C765 / 9647 / BAN15

486 66MHZ, 16 MEG EDO 70ns ram, 2 gig ide hard drive.
Ive tried both Loner install [floppy + CDrom]
And install from win95 [16bit] environment.
On the lone install [empty drive no OS on it]
The drive was formatted LBA 32 fat.
When in win95 it’s formatted 16 bit, I could change this.
My goal is to set up as a stand alone QNX system , [no other OS shared]
Now the memory hole ? there is no place in the bios to shut it off or on,
There is no indication of it being on or off niether.
It’s an American Megatrends bios version 1.0
I have tried downloading and burning a second iso file to cdrom,
and downloaded a second time the windows setup to no evail.

Now for the errors from the previos post of your suggestions;

It worked !! at least I made it to the login promt.
When I typed ph , thats when $#@l broke loose,
The first time I did not get the dos files system error,
I think that was a symptom of a lockup.

Hear goes,

Error 1; —
Unable to mount a dos file system as /s/hd0-doson/dev/hd0t6.1/( corrupted
file system detected

This only occured at the second crash, not the first.

Which video card were you using when this error occurred?

Also, which version of the RTP are you using (September release,
January release)?
