automatic login

Hello,

Is it possible to boot into photon without prompting for login (and
start the voyager, or something else automaticaly) ?
If it is possible how can i do it, or where can i find more information
how to do it ?

Under QNX4 you just set a script variable as in:

LOGNAME - Prevents phlogin from running. For more
information, see “Suppressing phlogin” in the next section.

I’ll bet its the same for RTP.

Supposed to be, but it is isn’t.
I reported it in early Jan, and was told this week it’s not fixed in
the latest patch either.

Hello,

Thank you, it works for me on RTP.

Ferenc

The last time I checked this, the background was messed
up (complete blackness). The standard backdrop with the
logo is missing.
I am told that the home directory is not set correctly
either.
I believe this will be fixed soon.

Given these limitations, it does get into Photon
bypassing the login.

Do a “use” on phlogin and you can pass a uid and pass to
it for 1 form of automatic login.

I belive there is another way using the LOGNAME env var, but
one of the Photon guys would have to comment… Rod?

Erick.
