internet connection-sharing with QNX

kind people of this newsgroup,

i searched through the inn.qnx.com-newsgroups, but couldn’t find messages
about internet-connection-sharing - maybe you can help me out:

i use a cable modem from chello/austria, a computer running QNX RTP v6.0b
with two NICs (both working fine), and a hub.
the computer is connected to the internet, only the sharing for my other
comps in the intranet is missing…

does anybody know a tutorial or could explain in a few words how to get this
working?

thanks in advance for your helping,

martin saegmueller

by now i installed the squid-server, it runs very nice.
it’s a shame i don’t know which script to edit to get squid loaded when qnx
boots…
could anyone tell me?

thanks for helping,

martin

the proper script would be rc.local under /etc/rc.d

it probably doesn’t exit yet though, so you will have to create it…

hmmm…
i made that file and put the line in it that usually starts squid:

/usr/local/squid/bin/squid

there seems to be something missing, squid didn’t autostart…

forgive me, i’m new to this, but i’m trying

Did you give rc.local execute permission?

Create the file /etc/rc.d/rc.local do chmod +x on it (so it becomes a

script)

then in the file add what ever command you want to start
