multiple users?

Hi, I would like to know if QNX RP has multiuser, and more than one text
console like in unix. If there are, how can I switch them?

Hello,

you can switch text consoles with CTRL+ALT+number.
How many consoles you have depends on devc-con proces.

Different users can log in on these consoles.

Yes you can have multiple users on your QNX system. If you would like to create new users you could use the “passwd” utility.
For example “passwd fred”, will create an account for a user called fred and prompt you to setup the account information. You can also switch to other consoles by doing “CRL+ALT+F#”, F# being the function keys.

Dave B.

Sorry about that, I don’t know what I was thinking.
You use the CTRL + ALT + Number key to change consoles.

Again, I’m sorry.

Can I do this under Photon (like linux and x-window)?
I have tried something but it made my shelves disappear. I’m not
shure, but I think I’ve pressed ALT+# (forgotten CTRL).

What is curious is that the same problem (shelves off, no reponse for
winlogo-key neither mouse clicks) happened when I was dealing with
options and playing a MPEG file. Anyone knows why? Pavol? Dave B.?

Cheers

Yes, you can do it in Phindows. Just press CTRL+ALT+number.

It worked only in console. In Photon, it made me switch through the 9
‘worlds’.
Is that right?
