Hello!
Yesterday, I’ve installed QNX RTP on my computer, but I still have got 2
serious problems:
-
I have got in internal modem called “LASAT 560 V int”. This modem is not
recognized by QNX. What can I do?
-
My CD-ROM drive is also not recognized. It is a Pionieer 4x speed
(atapi).
What can be the reason for this?
So, if anybody can help me, I’d be very happy!!
Greetings,
Thomas
Hi Thomas,
It seems (I’m just guessing) that both problems are related to BIOS
recognition, not specifically QNX. Windows don’t use BIOS for many
functions, so it’s able to recognize theese. But it looks (still
guessing) that QNX doesn’t do this for some kind of hardware.
I think this way because my modem wasn’t being recognized by QNX, so
I followed a suggestion posted here to disable onboard’s COM2. It
worked, and I figured that my USRobotics internal finally appeared in
the ISA PnP BIOS detection (shown upon bootup).
It may be your problem too. Check out this (qnxrtp.newuser) and the
installation newsgroup. There are many postings regarding ISA and PCI
modems and CDROM also.
Cheers
