Install problems - CDROM not detected, creating standard ima

I’ve tried installing 6.1 on some systems at home, with a wide variety of
results.

Most of the systems are unable to run the CD image either directly via
booting from the CD or via the floppy disk, but the Windows install works.
Given that the drives are standard ATAPI CDROMs (usually on the secondary
slave port), is there anything I can do to get them detected?

Also, has anyone tried making an image file of a QNX install with Norton
Ghost or similar and installing the file on other systems? I’d like to use
QNX on all my systems at home, but seeing as one of the ones that won’t boot
from the CD uses Win2k, I can’t use the Windows install.

Thanks.

Damien

Is there secondary master device? If not, reconect CDROM as master device.

Slave device will not be detected by QNX RTP6.1 if master device is missing.

I did not try Norton Ghost, but you could look at dd command.

I guess all you need are fdisk, dinit and cp commands. For example

cp dev/hd0t79 dev/hd1t79
