Hello,
i try to connect desktop and notebook using null-modem cable
( homemade TxD<->RxD, RTS<->CTS, DTR<->DCD,DSR ) for
synchronizing files and so on. OS is QNX 6.1.
I use these commands on both computers:
slay -f io-net
io-net -d fd fd=/dev/ser1 -pqnet
So /net directories are created on both systems but only with the local
computers in it.
What’s wrong? May be problem is in the cable or network settings or
something
else missed ?
One more thing: “reopen /dev/ser1” on notebook + “pterm -d /dev/ser1” on
desktop
works ok.
Thanks in advance,
Artem
Hi Artem,
Try setting the hostname of the system and see if that helps.

Hi,
hostnames have been set - “desk” for desktop, “note” for notebook, and the
same
domain for both systems - e.g. “domain”. So i can see /net/note on
notebook and
/net/desk on desktop - only local hosts. If i have to tune /dev/ser1
settings ?
Is it possible at all ? )
Thanks,
Artem
