Can't install QNX RTP

Hello everybody!

There is my problem>
I’ve got two partitions:
primary 7GB running Windows ME
logical 1,7GB free
both FAT32.I tried to install QNX RTP on logical (d:) few times but i
recieved a message called: “Could not get drive info for /dev/hd0”.I
changed the logical
to FAT16 but it was the same way.
Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

P.S.
Sorry for my poor English.

Hi Atanas,

Is QNX the only thing that is being installed into the
2nd partition? If so, then don’t make a partition for
it under Winows. Boot from the QNX CD (if you have it)
and install it to its own partition that way.

Hello again,

That’s right.The QNX should be alone on the 2nd partition.Maybe I couldn’t
explain correctly.
I’ve got a QNX CD and when I boot from it everything is ok,during the
initilization still ok,but after that …In other words,it can’t find any
partitions,so I can’t choose any one to show where the instalation be.
I’m going to try again.

Hi,Atanas:
You can not install QNX in a Windows partition(but you can install it under
windows^_^),that is,it can not exist in a fat16 or fat32 logic partion,you
can install as the follow:
1,backup you data of winme
2,run fdisk,make a partition of type DOS,this will be for WinMe,and leave
the other space of the HD alone,do not do anything to it,this will be for
QNX.
3,format or install you WinME to the partition of type DOS you created in
step2.
4,with the QNX CD in the CD-ROM boot the computer from the CD
5,follow the instruction to install the QNX,it will find the leaved HD
space.during the installing, chose and use the QNX loader as the first
loader.
good luck.

You can’t install RTP onto Extended partition using the default installer.

Solutions:
0) Repartition to make room for Primary partition.

  1. Install as imagefile in FAT in Extended partition, using setup.exe
    from Windows.
You’ll need at least MSDOS or alike on the boot disk.

  2. Install it step-by-step manually.

This URL look interesting.
What are the chances of getting a translation into English?

Kabe,
Is there a way we can get the English version of your URL?
