i have a p3-750 laptop with win2k.
partition 1 has ntfs and
partition 2 has fat32
ive installed qnx on d: and created a boot disk.
when i but the system starts detecting gfx-card.
it finds ati rage128.
the problem is that the mouse doesnt work and the system is REALLY slow.
when i type on the keyboard i have to wait about 5 seconds between each
character or qnx doesnt register any chars at all.
No the file shouldn’t be called devi-hirun.txt it should just be called
‘devi-hirun’. This new file replaces the old on
‘/x86/usr/photon/bin/devi-hirun’
i dont get that far.
i after ive entered user/pass…
nothing happens.
no pterm or anything.
When you say that nothing happens do you mean that the system is hung?
After you login try hitting the Caps Lock or Num Lock and see if the
keyboard lights work. If so try hitting the (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Backspace)
to shutdown Photon and then type `shutdown -f´ to see if the system
reboots. If it does then we can eliminate that it might be a input
problem. Let me know the results of the above suggestion.
when i hit Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Backspace (after 10 tries or something)
the photon login just pops up again.
the keyboard driver is REALLY slow.
can i use my xircom 10/100mbit pcmcia ethernet card ?
can i compile my qnx 4.25 /photon 1.13 code in qnxrtp 6 ?
or is qnxrtp6 built on neutrino core ?

You can try booting in safe mode. To do this you hit the space bar when
prompted and then select F1 for safe mode. You then select F3 to set
the flag not to boot into photon. Then you hit enter to continue
booting system. After your system is booted and you are logged in as
root, run ‘crttrap clear’ and then ‘crttrap trap’. After that, run ‘ph’
to start Photon and see if that changes anything.
NOW IT WORKS!!!

This card is supported with QNX 6.1.

By the way, you might find a few people on IRC who are around if you’re
stuck waiting for a reply all evening, night or day. Just a reminder that
you can log into:
