installing vedit or uemacs in RTP (newbie)

Hello QNX friends,

I just installed QNX RTP and I would like to install either uemacs or vedit,
but have had no success so far (on an old Pentium box with 128 MB ram).
I downloaded the uemacs 3.12 binaries from the QNX website and successfully
unpacked and un-tarred them. I now have what appears to be an executable
with the name “emacs” in a directory. Switching to that directory and
trying to start the app with “./emacs” appears to want to launch something
and spits out the following:

n@{u: not found
…/emacs[2]: OTHER: not found
…/emacs[3]: syntax error : ‘(’ unexpected

It appears that the arguments (or lack of them) are creating problems.

I tried the same with the vedit binaries and got a very similar result.

Can anyone help me here?
Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Jason

Vedit isn’t available for QNX6/RTP. The emacs version you downloaded
is for QNX4 and won’t run on QNX4/RTP (not binary compatible)

It appears that the arguments (or lack of them) are creating problems.

Forget about vedit, as for emacs there was a version somewhere but
don’t recall where

Thanks in advance.
