deva-ctrl-sb problem :-(((

hi

Soundcard - SB 16 PnP (Opti 931 Chipset)

io-audio creates /dev/snd dir & that’s all

deva-sb does nothing even w/ params from
enum-pnpisa (BIOS PnP off)

mount -T io-audio … also does nothing :frowning:((

pls, help

Unfortunately, the Opti931 does not boot-up in
a SB-compatible mode. It must have some registers
set to enable it as a SB-compatible.The Optis
are also notoriously bad at spec compliance. Even
different versions of the same chip didn’t match
their own specs (let alone the SB specs). This
chipset will never be supported by QNX. Your
best bet would be to either write your own
driver or enabler based on the DDK and the specs
from the internet
(try ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/manuals/. )
or to find a new card (if possible).

Sorry about that. Good luck,
James
