USB? devu-uhci

Hi!
I just started to use QNX. Currently I am trying to get my SMC EZ 2202USB
Network Adapter to work. When I start I first run devu-uhci. Nothing
happens. Then, I get three messages that say “Timeout on Control
Transfer”??.

Any help here would be appreciated.

From,
Andrew

Make sure you are using QNX 6.1 by typing “uname -a” in a terminal. If
you’re using QNX 6.1, make sure that the BIOS is set to “Non Plug and
Play OS” and you can also try disabling the “USB Legacy Support” in the
BIOS as well. Once this is done, try using “usb -vvv” from a terminal to
see if the device can be seen by the utility. If the utility can see
the device, you can try starting the “devn-pegasus” driver and see if it
works.

That still did not. Work got the same error and it did not detect either my
SMC EZ 2202USB Adapter or my printer. Personally I dont care about my
printer I don’t need it for QNX.

Hi Andrew,

After you start devu-uhci do you see a usb entry under /dev?
How are you starting your network driver?
Can you send me the ouput from ‘pci -vvvv’, ‘pidin mem’ and ‘pidin arg’

Regards,

Joe

After I start devu-uhci I see the file “/dev/usb”
I am starting my network driver by “io-net -dpegasus -ptcip”.

Hi Andrew,

After you start devu-uhci do you see a usb entry under /dev?
How are you starting your network driver?
Can you send me the ouput from ‘pci -vvvv’, ‘pidin mem’ and ‘pidin arg’

Regards,

Joe

That still did not. Work got the same error and it did not detect either
my
SMC EZ 2202USB Adapter or my printer. Personally I dont care about my
printer I don’t need it for QNX.

Make sure you are using QNX 6.1 by typing “uname -a” in a terminal. If
you’re using QNX 6.1, make sure that the BIOS is set to “Non Plug and
Play OS” and you can also try disabling the “USB Legacy Support” in the
BIOS as well. Once this is done, try using “usb -vvv” from a terminal
to
see if the device can be seen by the utility. If the utility can see
the device, you can try starting the “devn-pegasus” driver and see if
it
works.

Hi!
I just started to use QNX. Currently I am trying to get my SMC EZ
2202USB
Network Adapter to work. When I start I first run devu-uhci. Nothing
happens. Then, I get three messages that say “Timeout on Control
Transfer”??.

Any help here would be appreciated.

From,
Andrew

The output from pci shows that you have 2 usb controllers (devu-uhci only
supports one controller at a time). It sounds like the dongle may be
connected to the wrong host controller. You could also try starting the
stack as follows: devu-uhci -p1
