Unreliable booting

Hi –

I’m running an install of 6.1a on a fairly standard pc and can’t seem to
get the thing to boot reliably. Booting from a floppy, all appears to go
well until initializing the parallel port…then it just hangs. I’ve
tried assigning the port to a different irq as well as turning it off
entirely, but nothing has helped. (it boots properly ~10% of the time)

hardware is a single pII/400 on an asus p2bds with a single ultra2 scsi
drive.

any ideas?

Thanks!
Jason
