Cannot connect to internet with my ext modem

Hi,

I am new to QNX. I found QNX in one of the magazine CD(PC Quest from India).
The Version is 6.0

I have been able to install it successfully. But when I tried to dial to
internet with phdialer, it initialize the modem with ATZ command and then
try to set the sound with ATM0 / ATM1. The modem does not respond and the
connection fails. I have an external USR sportster 56.6 kbps.

However, when use qtalk terminal program it dials properly. All the commands
including ATM0 / ATM1 works.

Also, could some one enlighten me on the versions available. What is the
version 4 / 4.25 / 6. The QNX website says 4.25 is the latest. what is
version 6 then and there is 6.2.

Hi Ashok,

Your best bet to get things going is to get QNX 6.2 from here:

http://www.qnx.com/developer/download/free/

As there were some problems with the inital release with regards,
to modems. You can however check our knowledge base or community
sites that may have a tip or two.

With regards to the versions of the OS:

QNX 4.25 is the latest version of QNX4, this it not free.

QNX 6.2 is a different OS. It uses the Neutrino core technology and
there is a free version available at the link above.
