Newbie development question

Hello!

I’m thinking about developing applications and / or drivers for QNX Neutrino
but I would like to use some kind of IDE to do this.
Unfortunately I’ve got only basic knowledge about QNX and its development
process.

My question is whether it is possible to use Windows based IDE’s (and
compilers), preferably MS VC6 to compile binaries.

I know that there’s a product from Metrowerks available to accomplish this
but it’s a little bit expensive for a “sneak preview” of QNX’ possibilities.

Has anyone found a solution on how to configure VC6 to compile and build QNX
applications?

Thanks in advance,

Christoph Bisping

There is also Momentic PE bit it’s is probably in the same price range as

You can use VC6 to edit source but not generate binaries.

You can try workspace which is a simple but nice small IDE. It’s available
on the 3rd party CD.

Thanks in advance,

Basically to build on Windows you need our libs, headers and a gcc toolchain
that can target QNX. This is only avaliable in a commerical product.

If you just want to try out QNX, get that Non-commerical edition and install
it on your PC. You actually run QNX to develop for QNX in this case.
