deva-sb: DSP chip version 2.1 not supported

Hello,

I’m trying to get my sound card to work (chip: OPTi 82C924). I ran
isapnp to set it up. But deva-sb reports that DSP chip version 2.1 is
not supported.

What version does deva-sb supported, then? Are the deva-sb sources open
so that I can try to build a custom driver to support my card? (Or
better yet, will you (QSSL) be willing to support it?)

ARGH!!

I got my sound card to work, but on QNX4! (Of all the irony…)

I was fiddling a bit with isapnp and started up Audio in MSS (Microsoft
Sound System) mode. Then I tried out /usr/demo/src/audio/vplay on a Borg
wav file, not expecting to here anything, and boy did I get a scare to
here that Borg voice coming out of my speakers

Then, of course, I immediately went and searched for a corresponding
deva-* driver in QNXRTP: no deva-mss :frowning: :frowning:

But every gut feeling I have tells me you people (QSSL) have, or are
working on such a deva-mss driver. Right??

cheers,

rick

Forget my previous postings. Another case of RTFM again. Sorry for
boring you people with my stupid questions. I really have LOTS of
catching up to do in QNXRTP.

Just discovered that ALSA is not a specific brand of audio cards, as I
assumed. I found the ALSA package on QUICS and it has the sources of the
deva-* drivers. Even found a whole site dedicated to ALSA development.
(alsa-project.org) I should be able to work things out with all this
info.
