It looks to me like you’re trying to run ramtrap as a shell script.

I have two licenses for qnx4.24, each one of them for a network node
only. Making use only of these licenses, I can assemble a network qnx?
Somebody can help me?

Gustavo.

I have one notebook with a Accton EN2242 Series MiniPCI Fast Ethernet
Adapter installed. I would like to know if somebody knows some drive qnx4
for this adapter.

Gustavo.

The short answer is:
If you have 5 nodes then EACH of the five nodes must have ALL 5 licenses.

Now here’s the exceptions to the rule:

  1. when a node starts up it counts its valid licenses, every time you try to
do a QNX Send() it will only send to node numbers that are less than or
equal to the count. I.E. If node 5 has three node licenses it can only
send to nodes 1, 2 & 3. BTW, the other node must be able to reply back to
the origin node number using the same rule.
  2. any node can always send to node #1, even if it has no licenses

Taking advantage of rule #2, it is common to set up node 1 as a server and
put all of your licenses there. Then in sysinit on all of the other nodes
you can use ‘license -R 1’ to read the licenses from node 1 and use them.

Also, keep in mind that in addition to licensing, all of the netmap entries
must be correct for QNX networking to work.

4, I’ve tried on both sides using a 80 pin cable and the standard 40

I replaced the EIDE DVD-ROM with a EIDE CD-ROM still no dice. I’ve

I’ve RTP installed on my Compaq Deskpro at work & I’ll leave it on there

OK here is what I have done.
Once the boot pocess (initial install) starts I’ll get the error “cannot
find cd”

Is this all you get? Do you have 4 IDE connectors or 2?

this happens on two different PCs with the identical
motherboards installed but different components. I’ve tried resetting
the BIOS settings to default, no change. Each PC is equipped with an
Adaptec 3940 SCSI card

This SCSI isn’t supported
& I’ve tried to install to a SCSI & EIDE drive,
no change. I’ve tried booting from an EIDE CD & SCSI to install to EIDE
, no change. I’ve tried booting from an EIDE/SCSI CD & installing to
SCSI & EIDE, no change. I’ve also tried the same scenario above using a
boot floppy. I’ve also installed it on a PC @ ghosting the hard drive
just before the first boot (where it detects everything) & that scenario
just hangs during the boot process. I’ve burned a couple of different
boot CDs, that last being “Disk at Once” to insure that I had exactly
what was recommended.

Now maybe it just has something to do with the CD error
I’m getting but
I’m not sure. So I’ve done everything that I can think of, if you can
offer anything it would be greatly appreciated.

-thanks
James

Can you expand on “cannot get QNX RTP to load”. I’m not 100% sure
about this but I get the feeling the chipset is not to blame.

Are you saying it’s not working? I don’t see what chipset
have to do with this, aside HD controler.

Hi James (and all)

I’ve got the same problem few months ago and post a request here
but didn’t get any solution.
It seems that there is some trouble to install QNX from SCSI drive:
It lost the SCSI chain after the first reboot. Note that the same kind
of problem appear with Win98. The difference is tha with Win98
I resolve the pb by using a boot disk to launch the install process.
unfortunatly this solution doesn’t work (for I) for QNX.

Has anybody got this trouble? found a solution?

I have done some more playing with this and I can get things to partially
work by running devp-pccard and pci-bios in that order. At least it finds
my network card now. I noticed something wierd as I was trying to get my
setup for io-net together.

My output for pin is as follows:

Sock Func Type Flags PID Base Size IRQ
1 0 Network C—I-±-------- None 0x200 32 3
1 Empty ----MF---------- None
2 Empty ----MF---------- None
2 Empty ----MF---------- None

Are you starting io-net as ‘io-net -dne2000 ioport=0x200,irq=3 …’?
You can force the irq for a socket by starting devp-pccard with the
-l (el) option. See the usage message.

Hi Chris,

The developer is currently away right now who deals with this. We

I am still having problems with this. Have there been any relevant
upgrades
or patches since 6.1. My laptop is no fun without a network card

I have re-tried this with 6.1 and I still get the same problems.

Hi Chris,

Support for this chipset was only added to the latest
devp-pccard
which
is currently in beta.

I have tried to get both Patch A and B running on my Dell

notebook without much success.

When I boot, I receive the following 2 errors:

“Unable to allocate resources…”
“No PCMCIA or Cardbus adapters …”

It seems that devp-pccard is just exiting and giving the
second
message.

As a result, I can’t get my network card to run.

Any ideas?
