Package Manager can't get past Firewall

My RTP box can not connect to ‘QNX WWW Repository’

What type of connection does the Package Manager use? TCP or UDP and
what ports are used? My machine sits behind a tight firewall. I
suspect I need to pry open a port or two…

thanks,
-david

Use HTTP proxy

Internet access.
Thanks,
Alain.

Here’s a screenshot (in jpg) of the error I get when I try to go through
my http proxy. The temp file appears to be some html that was going to
display an error message about having to log in to my proxy server
first. It doesn’t appear to have any mismatched tags in it. But pkgmgr
never presents the login dialog, like voyager does. Can someone from
QSSL please speak to this?

Most proxy servers don’t examine the TCP packets; and are only concerned
with the port. HTTP is a (the) protocol. Public WWW servers serve HTTP
on port 80. I tried using our Proxy server, but to no avail.

I think my still stands: What type of connection does the Package
Manager use TCP or UDP, and what Port or Ports?

A proxy user/password has been added to the “Preferences” dialog ( Edit->Preferences then click on Connection ). It will be available in the next update, I hope.

QSSL:

This problem has returned.

Does the Package Manager (1.04) use any port other than the proxy port
entered in:
Preferences/Connection/Port

Why is it that Voyager, which is configured to use the same Proxy
Server, can access the Repository but Packager Manager can not?

Thanks,
Sisyphos

This is a known problem which has been fixed. The fix will appear in
QNX 6.1.0A.

Wonderful! I would like to install QNX 6.1.0A (which is out now,
right?). But I have a minor problem: the current package manager can’t
get through the firewall

And the packages aren’t available on your ftp server…

Now, please answer my question: What ports does Package Manager 1.04
use?!?!?

Go to pkg-installer/Edit/Preferences/Connection and set your own port.
