how do i install a new truetype font?

How do i install a new truetype font into Photon?
I have copied the *.ttf file into the /usr/photon/font-repository
and i see it in the /usr/photon/font folder
But when i try to use it it shows a the wrong font.!?

Have you used the font server to map the fonts in.
IF not go to the launch menu and select configure font.
Your font should appear in the list.
Map it to the desired font.

Hi Mikael,

Where did you get the font? Did you copy over the font from a Windows machine?

Erick.

Hi Erick,

The font was originaly in another format (.fon I think).
We coverted it to .ttf in windows and then copied it over
to Qnx.

Will this work? Is there anything special we have to do
to get Qnx to recognize a windows ttf?

Hi Michel,

No, Windows uses ASCII encoding wheras QNX uses UTF8 type encoding,
so a direct copy over won’t work unfortunatly.

So if you could convert the font into a unicode true type font (UTF8)
then yes this should work, but only in QNX RTP.

Erick.

Is there any program that can convert a TTF font to UTF8?
On QNX or Windows…
