PCMCIA network card not detected

I don’t have a devices tab in Network Cfg and nettrap returns “No network
cards detected”. I tried a 3comm and a Xircomm card. Any ideas?

When I run pin, it detects the card and tells me the irq it is on as well
some other info. Somehow the drivers aren’t being loaded…

Thanks

I have same situation amd have been told that PCMCIA NICs aren’t
currently supported. PCCard ones should work. It is very confusing
because some PCMCIA cards actually have PCCard label on them

Hi Davin,

Can you be more specific? What chipsets are on the cards?

Supported hardware can be found here:

The 3com card is the 3CCFE575CT-D, on the supported hardware page I found
the 3CCFE575BT. I would think that these two cards would use the same
chipset. I am able to see the card when I type pin… In technical support
section on QNX there is a description of how to set the card up manually but
it only describes a situation where you know which standard to use (NE2000)
I am not sure what to enter…

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi,
I have the very same problem. I tried the 3com cards 3CCFE574BT and
3CCFE575CT without any result. Does anyone have any information on this?

Hi,

did you ever get this resolved?

I have the 3CCFE575CT-D card as well and am unable to get it up and running
on Neutrino.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I too can not get this configuration too work. The devp-pccard service
will not start. The uname command returns the date “2000/10/17-14:59:25
edt” this does not sound correct for the B update that is supposed to be
on the web.

P.S. I used Windows 2000 proffesional to run the qnxrtp.exe installation.

There’s a “catch-22” here. You cannot get the B update without your network
working
and in some cases you can’t get your networking to operate without the B
update.

I wish someone at QNX would listen to us and post the ^%$#$# update on the
Web!

Also, the date you uname is returning is correct for the January
distribution (release A).

Go Figure!
