I got a lot further this time.
It seemed to install the software ok, but on reboot, it gave me the
following messages.
Range check failed (IO) - Dev 701 - Vend 1179 - Class 78000 - Addr ffc0 -

f7fff000 - Size 1000

I decided to reinstall to give myself a bigger partition, and by hook or by
crook, I cannot get into qnx again, and the original messages at the bottom
persist.
I can look at the filesystem - and there is a zero-byte .diskroot

OK, now I really do have it.
I need to select enumerator disables, to boot up.
If I do that, and disable checking other drivers other than EIDE I can boot
very successfully.

It seems to be a bit hit and miss.
I’m not sure how to improve the situation but it seems to want me to choose
the .altboot, plus disable the disk controllers other than EIDE, and even
then it won’t always boot.

PS I guess I will need to build an image which has these capabilities –
still waiting for the next article on how to do this.
