Can't get networking up on tulip ethernet

Hi,
I just installed qnxrtp on a machine with an SMC ethernet card
that qnxrtp identifies as a tulip card. I am unable to get networking
up - I can ping the machine itself (either ip address or host name (in
hosts)), but I can’t ping any other ip address - not even the gateway on
the same subnet. The ping returns:
ping: sendto: Host is down
ping: wrote (…) 64 chars, rc=-1

I know the gateway is up because I can ping it (and get network access)
from another qnx machine on the same subnet (which is using a different
ethernet card).

How do I get qnxrtp networking to work with the tulip card?

nicinfo
cat /proc/ipstats
pci -vvvv
