but I hate all thoses new mother with all that carp integrated Audio & Video
& Raid & AMR & now it CNR “useless junk” hehe.
Integrated has a lot of nice features…
AC97 Audio – works great for most non-gaming applications (except QNX, so
far)
Video – ditto (at least there is some i810 video support for QNX)
On-board RAID ATA/100 – very cool, not well supported in QNX
Having 4 onbaord IDE channels is almost a must have anymore.
AMR/CNR – worse than useless.
(hmm… AMR Modem $11, PCI WinModem $9 – so the reason for AMR
is…???)
You can sort of get Promise IDE’s to work under QNX if you turn off
everything
fancy and run it in a legacy IDE mode. If you are using a BH6 though I’d
just connect
up to the onboards, it’ll work a lot better. Unless your hard drive is a lot
newer than
the rest of your system, there probably won’t be enough performance
difference to
matter anyway!
