Hercules Prophet MX 2

Has anyone gotten QNX:RTP to work under a Geforce 2 MX correctly and not in
VESA mode? (insanely slow) I downloaded the new distribution of QNX:RTP but
it didn’t work either. Are there any plans on supporting these cards in the
future, and are there any drivers I can download and try to install for it?

And for the 3Com EtherLink III ISA (3C509b-TPO) network card. Doesn’t seem
to work :frowning:

Thanks in advance…

I know it’s not quite the same, but I am running a Hercules 3DProphet II
GTS, and it runs using the TNT drivers that came with the distribution. I
would imagine that the MX would use the same drivers, since the detonator
release for unix covers their family of cards also?

Hi Jason,

Could you please run the graphics script found on my home page and
send me the file it creates (mail: emuis@qnx.com), but please send
correspondance to the news groups (to keep others informed).

Once you have the scipt on the system, make sure it is executable
(chmod +x grafxscript.rtp)

My home page: staff.qnx.com/~emuis/

Thanks

Erick.

Erick, I don’t want to sound like an idiot, but how do I execute the script
once chmod’d? I’ve got it executable, once I type grafxscript.rtp, it tells
me unknown. Also, I was able to get my network card to be recognized by
running io-net, but how can I make it detected upon booting? And when I
tried to access the QNX website via voyager, I received a DNS error, I set
eth0 to DHCP. Is three any other settings i need to set up for it to work?

Thanks… please get back to me

Hi Jason,

No problem

  • once chmod’d check the permissions (it should be)

-rwxr-xr-x 1 emuis support 1154 Jan 25 09:31 grafxscript.rtp

ls -l will tell you this.

Then in the directory that the script is in (make sure you are logged in
as root) type

…/grafxscript.rtp

That should do it for you.

Erick

Hi Jason,

We looked at the info, and it seems to be related to a known problem with
certain configurations with TNT cards, we are currently looking into finding
the solution to the problem.

Thanks again for sending in the information.

Erick.

Erick, is there anyway to force the TNT drivers for the card? Or will I
have to wait till there is a fix/patch for QNX:RTP? And that raises another
question… my network card is not automatically noticed during boot. I can
manually initialize it but upon trying to get on the net thru Roadrunner
Cable service I get DNS errors (I set it up with DHCP). You wouldn’t happen
to know what is causing the problem would you?

Thanks again…

Hi Jason,

With the video cards unfortunatly not. However patch b (QNX 6.0.0b) is
comming out VERY soon.

Regarding your network card, try using the DOS configuration diskette that
came with the card. Once you have the config util up turn off Plug and Play
mode on the card.

That should get ya going.

Erick.

Ugh… I don’t have the disk for it, I recevied teh car with my Roadrunner
service… I’ll check 3Com’s site for a diskette creation set, maybe they
have one.

Thanks again Erick
