el900 and 3COM 3CXFE575BT problems

Hi,

I am using the above pcmcia card under Win2k w/o problems. However, I can’t
get it to work under the RTP

I’m using the latest down load from get.qnx.com (patch A I belive).

nettrap does not detect the card. I have to do a io-net -del900 -ptcpip
manually.

When I do verbose, on the driver it reports that it can’t find the media
type, and it reports the speed to be 0. It also doesn report a mac address,
but the driver seems to run as en0 becomes available.

dhcp.client doesn’t assign an address (I know the dhcp server is running on
this network). So I try to assign one manually. But that doesn’t seem to
work.

For example: The route is 10.3.31.1 on this network. The netmask is
255.255.255.0 A free IP address is 10.3.31.26

So I bring up photons net config utility and manually put in the .26 address
and the 255.255.255.0

I then go to a terminal and type:

route add -net 10.3.31.0 10.3.31.26

Then I try to ping the router
ping 10.3.31.1

and I get nothing.

Then I add:
route add -net 0.0.0.0 10.3.31.1

Then I try to ping an address that I know exists, still nothing.

I can ping 10.3.31.26, but that is all.

Ideas?

Thanks
Kevin

Please post the output from ‘pin’ and ‘pci -v’.

Thanks, Hugh.

Thanks Hugh,

Here it is. I’ve pasted it here but have also included them as files. (The
text for the PCI stuff is rather long.)

Also, I am using a Sony PCG-F590K laptop (the K means win2k) with 256 K ram.

Kevin

Previously, Kevin Stallard wrote in qdn.public.qnxrtp.installation:

Thanks Hugh,

Here it is. I’ve pasted it here but have also included them as files. (The
text for the PCI stuff is rather long.)

Also, I am using a Sony PCG-F590K laptop (the K means win2k) with 256 K ram.

Kevin

Thanks for the output. This used to work, but now it doesn’t! I’ll have to
take a look at the el900 driver and figure out what is happening. Do you
see the Rx count incrementing if you do a nicinfo?

Hugh.

Yeah, I did a bit more as well. I hope it will be helpful

Here is nicinfo’s ouput after I run io-net -del900 -ptcpip and then
imediatly run dhcp.client. This snapshot was taken after about 30 seconds:

(This is starting to sound like a sit in with your overbearing aunt as she
is showing you pictures of their trip through Wyoming, it is with great
effort that you continue to sound interested.)
Here is a picture, uh, I mean snapshot of nicinfo after starting the driver

And finally what nicinfo reports after this attempt: I noticed that there
was no change in the statistics. I also noticed that after some time had
passed, that there was still no change in the stats.
