QNX6 install on QNX4 machine with no CD/ROM

Hi, I need to install QNX6 on a QNX4 machine with no CD/ROM. I have TCP/IP installed on the QNX4 machine so I am trying to configure a ftp link over the serial port with another machine that is running QNX6. Then I can send qnxrtp.tar.F to the QNX4 machine and install it. I have tried to follow the docs on how to configure pppd, etc, but no luck. Can someone please walk me through it on both machines? Thanks much.

Hmmm…

Can you take the hard drive out of the machine with QNX4 on it, put
it on another machine that does have a CD-ROM, install QNX6 and then
put the hard drive back?

Otherwise, if you could be a little more forthcoming on just where
you’re getting stuck it might make it easier to find someone willing to
walk with you.

I’ll kick off by asking if the two machines can ping each other.

Assuming they can, then you could set up an /etc/exports file on the
QNX4 machine, run portmap and Nfsd on it, then run fs-nfs2 on the RTP
machine and copy the file over.

It doesn’t sound like the two machines can ping each other though.
