patch B hangs after "Installing /dev/par port 378"

I have a computer with a potentially flaky BIOS chip.

QNX_RTP works fine, but when I install patchB (either by installing the
patch using the package manager or wipe the partition and use the PatchB CD
for the whole installation) the computer gets stuck at the

Installing /dev/par port 378

What is the OS doing at this point?

It actually managed to boot once or twice before it stopped…

Anyone else seen this?

Try using verbose mode (hit space when prompted and then see instructions).
Disabling some of enumerators might help. I’ve seen this and in my case
disabling either ISA or PCMCIA enumerators allowes it to boot. That was
caused by bug which was fixed but I don’t remember if the fix made into
patch B… If you see similar situation talk to thomasf.

Oooh, that worked, thank you!

It was a bit tricky trying to upgrade to patch B after I disabled pc cards
and the network stopped working, but I managed.

Thanks!

Well, it works, mostly.

Now instead of booting one out of 15 times, it boots 14 out of 15 times,
but it still hang sometimgs at the /dev/parport bit.

Is anything being done about this at all?
