The transmisssion speed indicator seems to be nearly useless.
At the beginning of a download the speed indicates a very high number (up to
1000KB/s).
While the download is running, the speed indication comes down successively.
But only near the end it is a realistic value.
Corresponding to that, the indicated remaining time shows a few seconds on
the beginning.
Then it is increased over 2/3 of the transfer time and very slowly decreased
afterwards.
