patch b+c problems

Hi,

I’m using a dell computer which I have installed the QNX system on it(its
the only system).
After the installation everything worked perfectly. Now, I have to develop
on this environment a network driver, so I saw in the qnx site that patch b
has a major changes in the os, so I have decided to install it and patch c
too.

After installing both patch b and c there was a need to reboot. I have
rebooted and afterwards the system has started to get stacked in the first
main screen. it writes: “waiting for input driver” and that’s it, nothing
happens.
I’ve tried it few times and it stacks in the same position. I’ve tried a
safe mode “F1” and the system came up as a command line and then I’ve typed
“ph” to load the photon. and it came up. after that I’ve tried to reboot and
I’ve got to the same problem “waiting for input driver”.

should i re-install the system ?

any ideas?

To figure out what happened, if you have network connection to this
computer, try from telnet session to skim through system log (sloginfo
command). You can see messages about possible troubles as well as the
command line which was used to start input driver.

I was going to say, did you install Patch B then reboot, and then install
Patch C? Or did you do them both at the same time? I don’t know how much
difference it would make, but it strikes me you should always reboot after a
major system upgrade like that, though most other additions to the system
(through the repositories, leastwise) need no reboot.
