Installer Problems with new QNX6.1.0

Hi,

I downloaded the June 29th QNX6.1.0 and burned a CD.
I then started to follow the install instructions.
When I got to the re-boot, I got the “unable to start devc-con” problem.
Today (July 9th) I saw the fix procedure, and followed it.
QNX6.1.0 now seems to be up and operational.
HOWEVER…
I can no longer install anything through the Package Manager (graphical
version)
It always stops at the end (based on the progress bar) of the
“Downloading repository information…” dialog.
The progress bar reaches 100%, but the dialog never goes away to let me
view the repository.
This happens with both CD-based respositories (ones I have viewed before)
and file based repositories. I cannot do the WWW Repository, since I do
not have Internet connectivity from this machine.

HELP!!

There are a number of packages and upgrades I wish to install!

I can’t seem to produce bootable target files with mkifs.

fs-cifs link segment violates and it comes back with some ’ can’t stat’
error even thought I have the -a and -b options applied. The first release
worked most of the time but occasionally crashed.

And that was after I did the update fix patch today.

Make that NEED to install - like the development package, DDK’s, etc.
which the upgrade un-installed for me.

O.K. having heard nothing back at all on this…

More information…
(I now have a work-around, so urgency has dropped dramatically…
By corollary to Murphy’s Law, now that the urgency has dropped, I will
get quick answers! :sunglasses: )
When started from the shelf, I have the problem.
When started manually, from the command line, the problem goes away.
Differences:
When started from the shelf, the command has a “AUTOCONNECT=1” in front
of it. When run in this fashion, I get a phdialer pop-up - which is
useless, since I have no internet connection (yet) from this machine.
I cancel the phdialler.
I later get the problem situation. (Package Manager stalls at end of
reading repository)

Without the “AUTOCONNECT=1”, when launched from the shelf, the problem is
gone. I.E. the “AUTOCONNECT=1” causes the problem!
