yet another 6.1 install

I’ve just installed 6.1 ( and yes I love it too!!!) only it seems as if only
secondary ide channel mounts, ad during the eide detection at boot time I
get the following displayed…

simq_timer : building abort ccb
ata_start_ccb : func 10

this never happenned with previous versions … so what can it mean &
how can I fix it?

All help greatly appreciated

This sounds like your using the dma image when you should be using the
non-dma image

Type mkifs /boot/build/qnxbase.build /.boot and see if you still have
any problems when booting.

I am using the dma image ( which btw worked ok in previous versions) and my
bios has dma enabled (it is a udma 33 bios and ata100 hard disk)

Based on personal experience, there are a lot of
interesting problems showing up with the IDE drivers
under RTP 6.1. Especially regarding ATA33 capable
DVD-ROM drives and CD’s configured as slave drives.

I have also seen some sporadic weirdness when installing
an ATA100 capable hard drive on a older TX board that
can’t support ATA100 mode (and, yes, I have updated to
a newer version of Award BIOS that supports the drive
properly as far as it can). It works in RTP but has
had some strange lockups when accessing the hard disk.
Under 6.0 it worked fine.

I suspect someone at QNX (K.C.?) has been attempting to fix
the IDE drivers DMA support up a bit for this release and
has unfortunately broken a few things in the process. Has anyone
else had any similar problems, found any solutions, or heard
anything official from anyone yet?
