I installed the latest RTP, 6.1, and crttrap trap appears to be crashing. I
burned a CD from the .iso file and installed it under Windows. It boots
fine until it says: “running crttrap, please wait…”. Then I get the
output:
then what looks like a stack dump and the laptop locks up.
I’m attempting to install on a Toshiba Satellite 4090XDVD laptop. Under
windows the display adapter is listed as: Trident Cyber 9525DVD PCI/AGP
W98(22).
I have booted up using the safe mode (no photon) and got the same results if
I tried to manually run crttrap trap.
The previous version of RTP installed and ran fine on the laptop without any
problems.
I am having a similar problem on a Toshiba Tecra 800. I run crttrap and get
similar results.
crttrap attemts to load the neomagic (rtp 6.0 found and uses neomagic
driver) driver first, the vesabios, then it dumps.

This is a different issue than those previously mentioned - it is a known
problem with the devg-chips_hiqv.so driver - a fix should be available in
an upcoming patch.
Unfortunately I don’t have access to the laptop today, but I’m pretty sure I
listed all the error messages in my original post. I can double check
tomorrow.

I am also having a similar problem on a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4300 which
functioned fine under Version 6.0.
Output is similar to what Jeff has previously described.

Sorry, I posted my previous message in ddk.graphics…
In this message I mention that I already tested the fix you are talking
about.
I will go and verify, but I’m pretty sure I did the right thing (as stated
in the readme associated file).
I’ll let you know.
Thanks,
Didier.

That fix looks like it worked for my Toshiba, thanks.
