6.1 Install Screw up

Arrrghhh!

Some time ago I had a nicely working RTP system, 6.0 C. Then I heard
that 6.1 was released. So
I said to my self great, I’ll just wait 2 or 3 weeks until all the
inevitable problems are known and sorted. After waiting patiently I
finally down-loaded the 6.1 package. BIG MISTAKE!
I received the dreaded “unable to start devc-con” message.

After posting for help in this news group, Barry (I think) provided
instructions on how to remove the newly failed package installation.
However since this time I have still not been
able to use Photon. After booting I get to the login screen and am given
the message “waiting
for input drivers to return” And guess what, It never returns. No mouse
& no keyboard. NOTHING.
Ha.

So, If there are any intelligent peoples out there who are willing to
assist me in getting RTP
going again, your help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Russ.

Hi Russell,

Are you currently running 6.1 now? If you get the devc-con problem
you can fix it by following the instructions found here:

Hello,

I still have the recovered 6.0C as I can not start Photon (waiting for
input drivers to return) to start Voyager to down load the fix.

Any suggestions?
