Install Problem

Hi,

I’ve managed to install QNX or an older HP Vectra, but the boot
hangs unless I hit the “esc” key and then continue with the install
once I get the boot options menu. The last bit of boot info on the
screen during a straight boot/hang scenerio has something to
do with ide device discovery and it says something about it taking
up to 30 seconds (although, it never terminates and the boot
does not continue).

I was thinking about putting this device in a remote location at
which i would not even have access to power-recycle the box;
so, this boot-hang is a complete non-starter. Unless I am able to
get around this problem, I’ll probably go OpenBSD rather than
QNX.

Also, does anyone know of hardening instrucitons for QNX?
Without a proper audit and very little general information about
secure deployment of internet connected QNX boxes, I’m quite
leery of a live internet deployment. I have yet to find anything like
IP filter/chans or even a firewall add on for QNX (and this would
required that the QNX box be placed behind a firewall for even
the most modest level of security).

…ended up going OpenBSD; thanks to everyone who e-mailed
me.
